Accommodations

Deluxe King Bedroom (Feather Room)
307 sq. ft.

Feathers are used in ceremonies to connect humankind with the spirits of the natural world. Porada Design built the concept of the Feather Room around artist Richard Shorty’s “Feather” painting. They had Shorty paint an enlarged version of his original image at the top of the stairway leading into the suite, with a ribbon extending up the stairs to the feather to guide guests into the room.
Deluxe King Bedroom (Water Room)
301 sq. ft.

Giving life to all of nature’s creatures, water is an element worthy of reverence and protection. The suite is characterized by a distinct smoothness as if all the surfaces have been worn into shape by a constant flow of running water. Rounded edges and curved lines in the décor and furniture evoke the fluidity of moving streams and rivers. Wooden elements, such as the headboard, countertop and side tables, have been left in their natural state to ground the space and remind us of the connection water has with our forested surroundings.
Deluxe King Bedroom (Earth Room)
253 sq. ft.

The Bear and the Wolf protect the wilderness and nurture the earth’s continued prosperity. To represent the natural world in the Earth Room, artist Corrine Hunt chose two dominant forest-dwelling creatures: the Wolf and the Bear. The Earth Room is an intimate space that evokes a sense of calm like the forested surroundings that inspired its design.
King Salmon Room
285 sq. ft.

People, like Salmon, will always return home, even if it means swimming upstream against all odds. The room’s finishes are earthy and neutral, using light fabrics and wooden furnishings to represent nature’s surroundings. The principle messages of the King Salmon Room are to pay respect to the king of all fish, the Salmon, and to remind guests that Skwachàys Lodge is a place they can call their home.
Canadiana Room Suite Room (Family Room)
398 sq. ft.

The rhythmic beating of drums symbolizes the spiritual relationship between animals, humans, and nature. Here artist Clifton Fred’s formline animal imagery has been printed within circles of varying sizes, reminiscent of the tops of drums, to symbolize a drum circle. To complement Fred’s red, black and white colour-blocked artwork, B+H CHIL Design chose rustic textual accents in similar colours, which together emphasize the traditional West Coast roots that gave rise to the room’s design.
Paddle Room Suite (Two Bedroom Family Room)
398 sq. ft.

The canoe moves above the water’s surface while the salmon swim below. The Paddle Room employs a modern design aesthetic to highlight the classic symbols of Northwest Coast Aboriginal culture expressed in artists Hill and Preston’s artworks.
