The required permission depends on passport, season, and the current Saudi/Nusuk or authorised package process. A general Saudi tourist eVisa may not cover every pilgrimage circumstance or seasonal restriction.
There is no single fixed Umrah total: visa/insurance, platform or package fees, flights, hotels, transfers, and guide services vary. Budget approximately CAD $200–$350 for a visa/insurance component when eligible, then confirm the live official/package total.
Allow at least one to two weeks for document review and coordination, and much longer for Ramadan or Hajj-related demand. Do not wait for flights and hotels to become non-refundable before the route is confirmed.
Start with the official Saudi/Nusuk instructions or an authorised Umrah provider. From BC, the process may be online or package-led; verify whether any passport submission, insurance, or in-person step applies to the traveller’s nationality and season.
Validity, allowed stay, and entry timing depend on the issued permission and pilgrimage-season rules. Check the dates carefully and confirm whether Makkah access restrictions apply during Hajj season.
Booking the wrong Saudi product, missing seasonal deadlines, overlooking health rules, separating family/group bookings, or assuming a tourist visa automatically solves Umrah access can derail the trip.
